I'm a qualified Piano and Theory Teacher in Wishart, Brisbane offering lessons which cater for each individual.
My goal is to create a love for music in others so that they will listen to it and enjoy it for the rest of their lives.
I also offer piano accompanying for examinations and recitals.
ABOUT ME
Playing music and music education are two things I love to do.
I've had 25 years' experience offering tuition to people of all age groups and skill levels from beginner up to diploma level.
After many years of study and practice I have achieved four diplomas in teaching, three in performance and one in accompanying: TMusA, ATMusA, LTCL (Teach), ATCL (Teach), LTCL (Perf), ATCL (Perf), AMusA, ATCL (Accomp),
This education and experience has enabled me to nurture the potential in students I have taught over the years.
I also enjoy accompanying and supporting instrumentalists and vocalists.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
I offer piano tuition at all levels, either for pleasure or examination
(e.g. AMEB, Trinity College London, ANZCA).
Studio or in-home lessons are available.
Each lesson is a one on one educational experience, tailored to suit the learning style and goals of the student. Individual home practice schedules are given each lesson with clear, itemised instructions which, if followed, will ensure steady progress.
I work in partnership with each student, their family or guardian, having regular two-way communication to ensure the best possible outcome.
I also offer instruction in theory and musicianship, aural testing, sight reading, general knowledge, piano accompaniment techniques, as well as mentoring in piano tuition.
A study of music has so many other unexpected benefits. It can foster self-confidence, innovation, analytical and problem solving skills, self-monitoring, perseverance and goal-setting abilities.
